Conference on 21.09.2023: Open innovation in the cities of NRW
Digitalization, climate change, mobility transition and much more. - the cities of North Rhine-Westphalia are facing major challenges. These challenges cannot be solved by individuals alone. One solution is the principle of open innovation at city level, which focuses on the involvement of urban society in the major issues of our time.
Applying open innovation at city level means promoting networking between all four areas of urban society to jointly shape the major urban issues: Politics and administration, education and research, business and associations as well as citizens and civil society. It is about open dialog, direct feedback mechanisms, close involvement of people in innovation processes and increased cooperation with one another in order to strengthen the innovative capacity of the city as a whole.
