Innovation Office Open, centralized, transparent

The Innovation Office has given the Open Innovation City project a face in the city: The office building at Alter Markt 13 in Bielefeld's historic city centre shines in new splendour and was open to all Bielefeld residents.

Meeting point and starting point

The Innovation Offices made the Open Innovation City project visible and approachable in the city. As a fixed point and launch pad for forward-looking initiatives, it was the contact point for the open, innovative city of the future. The office established the connection between science, business, politics and urban society in a physical space, thereby expanding the possibilities for establishing a new network of innovators.

The approximately 190 square metres of space and two floors offered six workstations for the OIC team. In addition, workshop and meeting rooms as well as an "Innovation Bar" and a multifunctional event area were meeting points for anyone interested.

"With the Innovation Office, we've created a space where people from Bielefeld can feel comfortable and come together to launch innovative projects that might not have happened otherwise."

Henning Duderstadt, Head of Innovation Office
