New study published!

Cities in all parts of the world are facing major challenges in the area of mobility. It is clear that new, innovative solutions must be sought to meet a whole range of ever-increasing challenges: traffic density, land consumption, air pollution, noise, inner-city development, last-mile logistics, and many more. Simply carrying on as before is not an option. The city of Bielefeld is also on the lookout for new solutions to reduce environmental damage, make it easier to get around to work and leisure activities, and make better and fairer use of existing spaces.

With the impulse paper "The Urban Mobility of the Future: Traffic Calming in the Inner City", Open Innovation City takes up the central questions from the round table on mobility held in September 2021 and shows which aspects are relevant for traffic calming, which challenges have to be overcome and how other cities are tackling the change in the mobility sector. The case studies show that there are a number of promising ideas that are already being implemented, but in the end each city must find its own solutions. With this impulse paper, Open Innovation City would like to contribute to a productive discussion on the topic of mobility.
